The 2017 Annual Meeting marks the 53rd anniversary of the Oregon Chapter American Fisheries Society. “Casting a Broader Net: Increasing Diversity and Inclusion in the Fisheries Profession” is the theme of the program.  The vision of the meeting is to:

  1. Invite speakers and attendees across a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, education, employment, nationalities, and disciplines to the meeting;

  1. Structure sessions focused on topics that build bridges to sectors of the conservation community that do not typically attend ORAFS;

  1. Highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion during the plenary session and technical sessions.

The Annual Meeting includes cutting-edge scientific research, shared experiences and knowledge, provides mentorship opportunities and networking with colleagues to build relationships. The workshops will hone your biological and technical skills, technical sessions and posters will entice the mind, trade show vendors will provide the latest tools to answer the hard questions of today, student-mentor events to inspire the next generation, and of course our legendary networking social events that tie us all together.
