“Meet Your External Committees” Networking Social (Wednesday March 14th)
This year, we will have a new networking social at 11 AM on Wednesday, just prior to the plenary session. Representatives from each external committee will be available to answer questions about their committees and to sign you up to join them! For more information, contact Dan Bingham.
Student-Mentor Mixer (Wednesday March 14th)
Match the hatch and join the popular student mentor mixer! Take advantage of this great opportunity for students, young biologists, established professionals, and retirees to share ideas, provide insight, bridge generation gaps, and build new relationships in a casual setting. Poster Session and Social (Wednesday March 14th)
Posters topics will covering many different fisheries disciplines. Up to 36 poster displays will provide for great conversation, and tasty northwest craft brews will assist discussions about innovative ideas and solutions. Networking at its best, this is an excellent opportunity to renew and create professional acquaintances. For more information, contact Christina Murphy.
Trade Show Social (Wednesday March 14th)
Visit with local and nationally renowned vendors during the trade show. This is a great opportunity to get technical questions answered from some of the professionals with the newest tools and technology to help us implement our projects and reach our goals. Vendor exhibits will be displayed in the Main Hall of the Hilton Convention Center to facilitate more interaction between vendors and attendees. Spawning Run and Carcass Crawl (Thursday March 15th)
Back by popular demand, we will have another Spawning Run for the 54th Annual Meeting. We will also offer a Carcass Crawl fun walk. So join in the fun and go for a run (or walk). Get your blood flowing and you mind open for a great day of talks. The run/walk will be held on Thursday, March 15th. Register for the event before the January 27th early registration deadline and get a commemorative t-shirt ($30; $20 registration cost with no t-shirt). Awards Luncheon (Thursday March 15th)
Join us to recognize the award-winning work and accomplishments of our members at the awards luncheon. The awards luncheon is also a great opportunity to network with colleagues over a free lunch! Contact Colleen Fagan for awards nomination information.
Business Meeting (Thursday March 15th)
Immediately following the awards luncheon, the business meeting will not conflict with technical sessions in order to maximize Chapter member attendance. Show your support for the Chapter by attending. The business meeting is a great opportunity to learn how the Chapter operates and how you can become more involved. Meet your Manager Social (Thursday March 15th)
This year we have an exciting networking opportunity for Managers and Researchers. Following a session where managers can share data needs or questions, there will be a social for researchers and managers to connect, share ideas and research questions, and hopefully initiate future collaborations! Banquet (Thursday March 15th)
Cap off your Thursday with another AFS tradition and opportunity for enjoyable networking with friends and colleagues. The banquet begins with a social, includes a sit-down dinner with a choice of delectable menu selections (see registration form), and is immediately followed by the raffle and auction.
Raffle and Auction (Thursday March 15th)
