FAQ
How do I apply?
Follow the link for the scholarship you want to apply for, check if you are eligible, prepare your application materials, then submit through the form on the scholarship information page.
What if I am not an AFS member?
You can still apply! Just follow the link here to join American Fisheries Society. Be sure to specify that you are in the Oregon Chapter. There is a fee associated with membership, but the student rate is significantly discounted and comes with many other great perks!
When will I be notified of the results?
The committee usually has the results of the scholarships by late February. Contact scholarships@orafs.org if you have not been notified by then.
Do I have to go the annual meeting if I win?
It is not required to attend the annual meeting if you win a scholarship, however it is highly encouraged (also because the meetings are a lot of fun). You will be recognized at the awards lunch and have your photo taken with the current president!
All students pay a reduced registration fee and have the opportunity for group lodging.
Who do I contact with questions or concerns?
