A major goal of the Oregon Chapter is sharing resources generated by our committees and our professional members with the greater community. Here you’ll find a few different kinds of communications.
We conduct committee meetings monthly and post minutes that detail the agenda items and actions taken by the members.
We publish a seasonal newsletter called the Piscatorial Press organized by the chapter Secretary that provides a digestible and entertaining overview of Oregon Chapter operations and upcoming events. This is where the community can find the most updated information as well as broadcast updates of their own (send an email to secretary@orafs.org to submit a request).
Occasionally Chapter members will publish technical comments and opinion statements on fisheries issues in the form of position papers, white papers, comments, letters, and press releases.
Proceedings are published collections of papers or presentations given at ORAFS conference, symposium, or workshop. These documents include detailed findings, methodologies, and discussions shared during the event, providing a record of the knowledge and insights exchanged.
