Annual Meetings and Workshops

The Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society gathers annually to showcase research and share knowledge among a vast group of practitioners, researchers, and enthusiasts. Not only is it stated in our Bylaws (Section 3 of the bylaws state that the Chapter shall host at least one meeting annually), and highlighted in our Strategic Plan (Objective 5. Strategy 5.1. Host a high-quality annual meeting with networking, training, and information sharing opportunities.), but the Chapter takes pride in hosting high-quality meetings that are accessible to all and provide a diversity of topics where everybody can find something relevant, informative, and interesting to learn about.

The ORAFS Annual Meeting is the Chapter’s single largest, most expensive, most profitable, and most important event. It usually serves as the largest gathering of fishery professionals in the region, with exceptional opportunities for technical information exchange, education, networking, career advancement, improvement of resource conservation, and mentoring.

In addition to the annual meetings, the ORAFS committees will also host meetings and workshops and there is also the occasional extra symposium, workshop, or other ORAFS sponsored event.
