Registration is open for the 2014 Oregon Chapter Annual Meeting.

The 50th Annual Meeting of the Oregon Chapter American Fisheries Society will be held at the newly-remodeled Hilton Eugene and Conference Center February 25th to the 28th, 2014.

Register early for reduced rates!

The chapter is offering three workshops (R statistical, Scientific Writing, and Structured Decision Making), and you’ll want to register soon before they fill up.  Don’t forget to register for our great social events including the spawning run (5K) / carcass crawl (2mile walk), and the Texas Hold em’ tournament. Check the website for details at http://orafs.org/annual-meeting/.

First call for papers!

Abstracts are being accepted for both papers and posters. The theme for this meeting is: “Reflecting on Our Past, Focusing on Our Present, and Preparing For Our Future.”  Presentations and posters will address topics from across all disciplines of fisheries that are relevant to Oregon.  Being the 50th anniversary of the Chapter, this year’s technical sessions will aim to incorporate and relate historical perspectives to the most pertinent topics of the day.  Please consider convening a session around your area of expertise and interest, solicit presenters, and submit abstracts as a package.

To get a poster or paper scheduled at the meeting, you must submit an abstract via www.ORAFS.org by DECEMBER 13, 2013.

If you are interested in convening a session on a topic important to your or if you have questions, please contact PresidentElect@orafs.org.
